| This Guide to Road Rides in Central Virginia was prepared by members of the Charlottesville Bicycle Club for their use on regular club outings. It is being made available to the general public without any warranties or representations as to its accuracy or appropriateness. The Charlottesville Bicycle Club and its members assume no responsibility whatever for any mishap, claim, damages or liability for its use by any person or organization. The user assumes the risk of all loss and/or injury arising from the use of this information.
As this Guide was prepared by and for the benefit and use of members of the Charlottesville Bicycle Club, active club membership entails the privilege of making copies of rides for personal use. Making copies for any other purpose without the express permission of the Charlottesville Bicycle Club is prohibited by current Copyright legislation.
This Guide has been compiled by the Charlottesville Bicycle Club for your use and enjoyment. As club members, we have ridden these routes several times and hope that you will have as much fun riding them as we have. For your safety, please observe these RULES OF THE ROAD.
- Always ride on the right side of the road, with the traffic.
- As much as possible, ride in a single line.
- Consider stopping by the side of the road if flow of motorized
vehicles becomes an issue.
- Signal your turns.
- Call out road hazards to your fellow cyclists.
- Observe all traffic laws just as if you were driving a vehicle.
- Always wear an approved cycling helmet.
